Frequently Asked Questions

Everything clients ask us before booking, answered plainly. Still have a question we haven't covered? Send us a message or book a discovery call.

Pricing & Investment

Straight answers on what things cost and why.

It depends on scope. Every project, from a Founder Story to a full Documentary, is priced around what your story actually needs: crew size, shoot days, and deliverables. We'll always give you a clear number before anything is booked.

Every package includes strategy, a full production crew, all equipment, editing, and delivery in the formats you need. Add-ons like a second shoot day, extended revisions, or expedited delivery are priced separately, and we'll flag those before they happen, not after.

Yes. Every project is split into three payments: 50% on signing, 25% on shoot day, and 25% on final delivery. It keeps things predictable for both sides.

Month to month asks us to hold flexibility for you at any time, which carries a real cost. A 3 or 6 month commitment lets us plan further ahead, which is why it's priced as the standard rate. It's not a discount, it's a reflection of what each option actually requires from us.

Yes, 50% is due when you sign on. That secures your production date and gets pre-production underway.

Life happens. Reach out as early as possible and we'll work with you on new dates. Specific terms around cancellations are outlined in your agreement before we start.

The listed prices are a strong starting point for most projects. Anything with unusual complexity, extra locations, or a longer shoot day gets scoped and quoted clearly before we move forward.

Process & Timeline

What to expect, and when.

Most Brand Story projects move from first conversation to final delivery in 3 to 5 weeks, depending on your calendar and how quickly feedback comes back to us.

We recommend 2 to 4 weeks of lead time to properly plan the story, lock the shoot date, and prepare the crew. If your timeline is tighter, tell us. We'll let you know honestly if it's workable.

We ask questions. What's the occasion behind this project, who's the audience, what's already been tried. It's a conversation, not a pitch. By the end, we both know if this is the right fit.

Most Brand Stories are built around a single, focused shoot day. If your story genuinely needs more, we'll say so upfront, not add days for the sake of it.

Typically within 1 to 2 weeks of the shoot, depending on the project's complexity.

Once notes are in, expect final delivery within about a week. Faster turnarounds are possible if timing matters.

Yes. Tell us the date early and we'll build the whole timeline backward from it.

We'll tell you straight if it's realistic. Rushed planning tends to show up in the final film, so we'd rather have an honest conversation than overpromise.

Story & Creative Direction

How we find the story, and how much say you have in it.

We start with a simple question: what's the one story worth telling right now. Usually it's tied to a real moment, a launch, a rebrand, an anniversary, something with actual stakes. That's where the strongest stories come from.

That's normal, and it's exactly what the discovery process is for. We ask the right questions and help you find the angle, you don't need to arrive with a finished pitch.

Yes. You approve the story angle and key messages before we shoot anything. We handle the craft, you stay close to the direction.

This is why approval happens before the shoot, not after. Once the direction is locked and signed off, we move forward with confidence. If something feels off during review, we talk it through in the revision round.

Yes. We build every project around your brand's colours, tone, and voice, not ours. We'll ask for your brand guidelines early in the process.

Our whole approach is built around restraint over spectacle. We're not chasing polish for its own sake. The goal is footage that feels true to your brand and your people, not a commercial with your logo on it.

We treat story as the strategy, not the decoration. Every project starts with a real occasion and a clear message, not a checklist of pretty shots. That discipline shows up in the final film.

Production Day & Logistics

What actually happens when the crew shows up.

A typical Brand Story shoot runs with 4 to 5 crew members, covering direction, camera, lighting, and sound.

We'll send a short checklist ahead of time, usually covering location access, any talent availability, and anything specific to your space. Most of the heavy lifting is ours.

We plan around your operating hours wherever possible and work efficiently on set. Most clients tell us it's less disruptive than they expected.

Most projects shoot on location, wherever your story naturally lives. Studio options are available if the project calls for it.

We build contingency into the plan wherever we can, and we'll talk through backup options together before shoot day if there's real risk involved.

Yes. All cameras, lighting, and audio equipment are ours to bring, set up, and manage.

Most shoot days run a standard 8 hour window, though this can flex depending on your story and location.

Deliverables & Usage

What you walk away with.

For a Brand Story, one polished 2 to 4 minute film, edited, coloured, and sound designed, delivered in the formats you need.

We deliver across the formats you'll actually use, typically horizontal for web and YouTube, and vertical or square versions for social platforms.

Yes, once delivered, the content is yours to use across your marketing channels. Let us know your intended use early so we can shoot and edit with that in mind.

You do. Once final payment is received, the finished film is yours.

Yes, additional edits or reformats can be scoped after delivery. Just reach out and we'll quote it.

The final edit is what's included by default. Raw footage handoff is something we can discuss depending on the project.

Trust & Fit

Who we are, and whether we're the right studio for you.

Gambit Motion is a newer studio, built by people with real production experience. We're direct about where we are, and we're focused on doing exceptional work for every client we take on, especially early ones.

Yes, we'll walk you through our portfolio during the discovery call. As a growing studio, that portfolio is expanding with every project.

We'd point you to our Google Reviews instead, for real feedback from clients we've worked with, in their own words.

We build a structured revision round into every project specifically so we can get it right together. Clear communication early on keeps this rare, but the process exists for exactly this reason.

We focus specifically on food and beverage, fashion, and lifestyle brands with a real occasion behind the project. If that's you, this is exactly the kind of work we do.

This is outlined clearly in your signed agreement before any work begins, so there are no surprises on either side.

Production insurance details are confirmed as part of onboarding for each project. Ask us directly and we'll walk you through it.

Revisions & Post-Production

What editing looks like after the shoot.

Every project includes a structured revision round as part of the process. The exact scope is confirmed with your proposal, so it's clear from day one.

Additional revision rounds can be added and are quoted transparently before any extra work begins.

You'll review a first cut and provide notes. We handle the technical craft, colour, sound, pacing, so you can focus on whether the story is landing.

We handle all of it. Sound design, licensed music, and captions are included as part of post-production on every project.

Is This Right For You

A few honest questions before you reach out.

If there's a real occasion behind it, a launch, a rebrand, an anniversary, an expansion, that's usually the right signal. If you're not sure, a discovery call is a low pressure way to find out.

We're focused on food and beverage, fashion, and lifestyle brands where one decision maker can approve the project and there's a genuine story worth telling. If you're looking for the lowest cost option or a quick stock style edit, we're probably not the right fit.

Book a discovery call. We'll talk through your story, your timeline, and what makes sense for your brand, no pressure, no obligation.
